Happy New Year!

We had a nice and quiet New Year's Eve. BB posed for the requisite picture, and we kept our expectations for the evening very low. We've never been much for major revelry, so we were quite content with sparkling apple cider and hanging out with our dear friend L. She made us a delicious dinner, which was a real treat, and after the kids went to bed we chatted and played a few rounds of Baffle Gab.


None of us had any illusions about actually making it to midnight, so we called it a night about 10:30 p.m. Of course, thanks to BB, S and I were indeed awake at the turning of the year, but for nursing and coaxing back to sleep instead of for kisses and champagne. And that's OK. There's always next year for champagne, and S is still pretty snorky for kisses.


So here's to a Happy New Year -- in spite of beginning with snot and sleepless nights, I have a feeling that 2008 is going to be a very good year.
